Join the Flock Campaign
The Join the Flock Campaign is a big public art project that anyone can join. It is co-ordinated by Eden Arts in Cumbria and you can find out all about it at www.jointheflock.co.uk
The Campaign wants 5,000 pom-pom sheep (made from real wool, of course) to participate in an installation which will be displayed in 2012.
The website has instructions on how to make your sheep and a downloadable template. There are lots of pictures of the sheep that have been submitted so far – but there don’t seem to be any Jacobs.
The Jacob Journal wants YOU to make a sheep and be part of the installation. To help you get started, the first ten JSS members that ask will get a free pack with sufficient Jacob yarn to make a sheep. Just email sheep@nutwood.ltd.uk or call Jacqueline Emberton on 0121 472 2203 and the pack will be on its way.
