Wales Region Open Day 2010
Our annual The Wales Region open day and AGM –Was held on Saturday June 5th 2010
We all met at the home of Arwel Jones’s Celtic flock at 10.30 am for Tea Coffee and Biscuits at this was then followed by a flock visit of the Jacob sheep together with a drive around their pedigree herd of Simmental Cattle. Following the farm walk lunch was held at the Penybont Llnafynydd where we all gather for a lovely meal; this was then followed by the Wales AGM. Many thanks to Arwel & Family for organising the Open Day.

RWAS 2010
A very Successful Royal Welsh Was held this year. The judge was Gordon Connor from Scotland. The Overall championship went Wyn & Siwan with a homebred Shearling Ram Hope Rocky and the Reserve Champion went to the Philips family winning with a homebred Shearling Ewe.

Flock Competition.
The flock competition this year will be held in September/October. We Currently have 12 Flocks entered if any body else is interested please contact Wyn or Siwan ASAP so that the routes can be planned in good time, this is very important, If you prefer a certain date then please let them now . Classes will be for, best homebred ewe lamb, group of ewe lambs, best homebred ram lamb, best Shearling ewe, Pen of Shearling ewes, best homebred Stock Ram, Best ram used this season. Large/Small flock. The judge will be Wyn& Siwan Harries. Entries should be passed to (Siwan) 07816440851. Wennant, Llandeilo, Carms SA19 7UR.
Show and sale- Llandovery Sun 26th September.
The Wales region will hold a Jacob sheep sale at Llandovery market on the 26th September. There will be a show followed by a sale. Please note that Entry’s close by the 3rd September 2010. We require stock to be penned by 8.30am for inspection. According to JSS rules, Stewards will be around for inspection of pedigree Sheep and to gather the Pedigree certificates.
Classes will be for the following : Rams, Ram lambs, Ewes, Shearling Ewe’s Ewe lambs. Also non registered animals

Winter Social booked for the 5th December
Prize presentation and Cavery lunch has been organized for the 5th December Meet at 11.30 am for dinner at 12pm.Adult £18 child £10 which will include, Starter, Cavery lunch, Pudding , Tea/Coffee. Then following the lunch the flock competition results will be announced. Supporters are asked to bring a parcel for the Raffle. All members and friend are very welcome. Bookings to Siwan Harries Wennant,llandeilo, Carms SA19 7UR by the 30TH November with full payment.
Winter fair 2010
Classes will be held for the best pair of ewe lambs or weather lambs for the butcher. If you need to now more information contact us or the RWAS office 01982553563
