Shows 2010
SURREY COUNTY SHOW- Guildford 31st May 2010
So the new showing season has started and the first show in the region with Jacob classes saw 4 contestants and 18 sheep contesting the classes which were judged by David Tuffney.
The photo shows the line up for the Breed Championship . From left to right are Daphne Rice and Helen Sutherland's Breed Champion Shearling Ewe, Simon Jones' Ewe lamb, Simon Jones' Ram ( reserve champion), and Neil Dickens' Ram lamb. NSA SOUTH
After a gap of 10 years the National Sheep Association promoted this event at Chilbolton Down Farm near Stockbridge in Hampshire on June 16th. The Society had a stand at the show and Simon and Gareth Jones took some sheep for the display. The event was well attended and a great deal of interest was shown in our breed and the Society.The Chairman of the Society,Gareth Jones and Breed Promotion Chairman, Janet East helped man the stand together with Sue Taylor and Daphne Rice. There will be a more detailed reprt of the event in the next journal. The photo show Gareth with the Society stand.
Alton Show - Sunday 4th July
Once again, Alton had lovely weather for their show - not too hot for the animals but sunny and breezy.
The line up for the championship was Simon Jones Ram, Daphne Rice and Helen Sutherland, Ewe, Simon Jones Ram lamb and Simon Jones Ewe lamb. The championship was won by Simon jones with his ram with Daphne and Helen's Ewe as reserve, the reverse of the order at Surrey. Simon also won the cup for the most points in all the sheep classes

SINGLETON SHOW
A pefect English summer's day for the Rare Breeds Show at Singleton. Not too hot and a nice breeze and good crowds.Mr and Mrs Digweed's ram took the championship with Daphne Rice and Helen Sutherland's shearling ewe as reserve. The judge was Geoff Bilverstone. 
The champion shown by Annie Etheridge, Mr & Mrs Digweed's grand daughter-in law and Daphne Rice with the reserve .

CRANLEIGH SHOW
There was a good entry of Jacob sheep for this show.The judge was Ken Cartwright who gave the championship to Daphne Rice and Helen Sutherland for their shearling ewe and the reserve to their ewe lamb.
